Growth funding is to expand the product or service to new markets, develop a new line, ramp up to scale, or consider acquiring another business. the startup is often incapable of borrowing the funds it needs from a bank. Therefore they continue to raise capital through a private placement. When a startup begins its operations and is looking to raise capital to expand and continue development of its product or service is often the startup’s first engagement with an institutional investor.

Exit strategies are plans executed by business owners, investors or venture capitalists to liquidate their position in a financial asset upon meeting certain criteria. A Business exit can be outright Sale of the Business, Merger or IPO.
